Summer Games 2017 is rumored to kick off either tomorrow August 1st or August 8th. For those who don't remember the original Summer Games. Blizzard released it last year to coincide with the 2016 Summer Olympics. It was a huge success for both Blizzard and the Overwatch community because of one reason. LucioBall!
The Summer Games event also included some country specific skins for the Overwatch crew.
This year is going to be no different with the return of Lucioball and more skins for our favorite Overwatch characters. While there is nothing solid at this moment, data miners have found the code hidden with in Overwatch that points to Blizzard doing a Summer Games 2017. We will know more tomorrow by either the event going live or some type of announcement by our favorite game lead, Jeff Kaplan.
The rumor mill isn't done yet.
Could this be the next Overwatch character? A leak posted to imgur points to a yes. Her name is Psyren and she's going to be a defense character who uses a retractable sword to pierce her enemies. Think Roadhog with out the pulling in effect. She's supposed to be a cross between Symmetra and Sombra. The leaker is supposed to work for Blizzard and claims that the Overwatch team is going to slow down on character releases. Which coincides with claims that Jeff Kaplan has said to PC gamer during an interview. The leaker says that he is "throwing fans a bone" with this image. He also released a bunch about her past. The leak was so detailed that it even talked about damage numbers which makes this person question the legitimacy of this leak. There is such a thing as too much information. You can view the entirety of Psyren here.
What do you guys think? Is the character leak legit? Or full of hot air? Are you excited for Summer Games 2017? Leave a comment with your thoughts.
And as always. This is James with Game Fix. Game on everybody!
